Camera simplifies machine-vision measurements

Oct. 25, 2007
The iIS-010 Smart Camera, uses a high-performance CCD camera, control unit, and software to simplify machine vision without compromising accuracy.

It has three types of camera heads: a C-mount, a 20-mm cubic, and a lipstock. It features an RS-232C serial interface and 10/100 base T Ethernet networking connectivity that lets it link to the factory floor. It also has a 60-Hz progressive scan frame rate and is housed in a 150 60 80 enclosure. A single cable connects a remote head, double-speed VGA sensor. The unit’s calibration procedure factors out both perspective and nonlinear lens distortion, making it accurate in metric, English, or pixel measurements. The iIS-010 also comes with gauging tools to help users measure lines, angles between lines, ellipses and circles, arcs, annuli, thread spacing (“wave tool”), multiple measures of length, and spacing of parts such as pins.
