Summary

Machine Design invites Stephanie Holko, Director of Project Development at NGen Canada and President and Chair of the Board at the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, to discuss a recent survey of engineers. Findings suggest a profession that is moving toward more equality and equal representation for women and men. However, the findings also reveal that systemic barriers limit women’s participation and slow the transition. In fact, some talented engineering professionals are driven away from the field and toward adjacent lines of work. The findings are being used to define the shape and scale of changes in the engineering pipeline.
