Summary
The use of digital models, or virtual prototypes, can significantly reduce the need for expensive and time-consuming physical prototypes, leading to accelerated product development at reduced costs. The validity of these prototypes can be strengthened by combining experimental results with parameter estimation.
Traditional product development often involves a time-consuming, manual process of trial and error. However, by using optimization algorithms, this process can be automated, promoting innovative designs. Through efficient gradient-based optimization methods, complex optimization tasks involving thousands of design parameters can be addressed. This is particularly useful in shape and topology optimization, common in various engineering fields such as structural mechanics, CFD, acoustics, electromagnetics, heat transfer, and chemical engineering.
This webinar will give an overview of the Optimization Module, an add-on to the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, including a live demo of functionality introduced in the latest release.
