Hello from MD&M West 2026!
We’re excited to bring you special coverage from the trade show floor in Anaheim, Calif. this week.
It’s become somewhat of a tradition to kick off our trade show season at MD&M West. The annual event remains a standout gathering for the manufacturing and engineering community and brings together tightly linked sectors, such as MedTech, automation, design and manufacturing, plastics and packaging. For Machine Design readers, the overlap across industries mirrors the interdisciplinary challenges our engineering audiences face every day.
This year, we got a head start. We checked in with several subject matter experts to learn what technologies, challenges and insights they will bring to Anaheim. Their early perspectives are captured in our series, “MD&M West 2026 Booth Briefings—SME Insights Shaping MedTech,” and are already helping us map out the macro trends influencing the broader industrial landscape, as well as the micro-level innovations that will influence design decisions in the year ahead.
For today’s installment, you will also find out why Sherri Monroe, executive director, AMGTA (Additive Manufacturing Green Trade Association) says additive manufacturing’s sustainability story is moving beyond intuition and anecdotes toward hard metrics.
We’d love to hear what you think. Reach out directly with questions and comments.
