Alan Griffiths

Industry Analyst, IIoT and Cloud Computing

Alan Griffiths is Principal Consultant for Cambashi. His focus is to understand how engineering and manufacturing organizations use technical software applications to meet their business needs, and to assist the software companies who develop and market those applications with their market planning. He has a particular interest in the impact of cloud computing and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Alan has applied information technology to engineering and manufacturing enterprises for more than 30 years, holding development, marketing and management positions with both user and vendor organizations. Immediately prior to joining Cambashi, he spent ten years with a leading, global CAD/CAM and PLM company, analyzing the requirements of customers and helping to define new product solutions and develop new markets.

Prior to that, Alan was Principal of a consultancy that provided independent advice to companies considering CAD/CAM and PDM/PLM systems, and researched and published guides to CAD/CAM and PLM/PDM systems and vendors. In his earlier career, he was CADCAM manager at Westland Helicopters (now AgustaWestland) and later Managing Consultant for Collaborative Commerce at Logica (now CGI).

He has an engineering degree from Cambridge University and is qualified as a Chartered Engineer and PRINCE2 project manager.
