Data logger logs CAN, ARINC-429, and RS-232 data

Oct. 25, 2007
The UEILogger Series now logs CAN and ARINC-429 bus data as well as data from RS-232, 422, and 485 ports.

Its ability to log analog and digital input data, small size (4 4.1 4 in. for the three-slot unit), and ruggedness (50-g shock, –40 to 85°C, and sea level to 70,000-ft operation), match the needs for in-vehicle testing in the aerospace, aircraft, automotive, marine, and railtransportation industries. The logger supports sample rates up to 100 samples/ sec on each I/O channel or port. Data is logged onto standard SD cards (2G SD card included) and may be retrieved via the Ethernet port or directly from the SD card using a standard SD card reader. The 2G SD card holds over 500 million 16-bit a/d readings.

The logger can transmit sequenced and scheduled “Query Strings” over the various communications interfaces for those devices that only transmit information when requested. Users enter the query strings into the logger and how often to send them. Users can also define CANbus communications events that start or stop logging as needed.
