The Whisker Series of micro-wire handling components for guiding from Bold Automation works with wires ranging in sizes from 35 (0.0056-inches in diameter) to 50 (0.001-inches in diameter) gauge. The series includes idler and drive pulleys, guide spindles, tensions towers, wire-wrap indexing modules, and rewind stations. Pulleys with diameters of 1, 2 and 3 inches are standard, pulleys 6 inches and other modules are available as components or customized sub-system assemblies. The components can handle insulated wires used in catheters and have options for magnetic wire used in electric vehicles.
