FactoryTalk Design Workbench software

FactoryTalk Design Workbench is Rockwell Automation’s next-generation programming and configuration software for micro control systems and Micro800 controllers. Specifically, Version 1 supports Rockwell’s Micro810  and newer Micro800 Lx0E controllers and has Class 1 connectivity to PowerFlex 520 series and Kinetix 5100 drives.

Ultimately, FactoryTalk Design Workbench is intended to replace the company’s older Connected Components Workbench. It enables faster download speeds over its predecessor and offers a unified user experience to Studio 5000 with a common organizer view, design workspace, programming instructions and shortcut commands. At the same time, it allows easy transition from Connected Components Workbench and Micro800 programs, versions 22 and 23, with minimal conversion risk.

Supported programming languages include Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST) and Function Block Diagram (FBD). FactoryTalk Design Workbench software is available free through Rockwell’s Product Compatibility & Downloads Center (PCDC). The company says future versions will expand support beyond Micro800 controllers, with annual updates expected.
