Designed to reduce procurement costs for manufacturers by reducing pricing inconsistencies and consolidating suppliers for optimal sourcing, the CADDi Drawer tool automatically extracts all data from drawings, including dimensions, texts and shape. It also can convert handwritten drawings to be searchable and comparable.
In this demo at Automate 2024, we learn that CADDi Drawer uses metadata to find similar parts in the library, reducing the need to create new parts while helping to improve economies of scale.
“We know that design standardization across an assembly and across all of our products helps to lower our procurement costs and make all of our MRO [maintenance, repair and operations] work a lot more efficient,” Brown said.
