Design analysis can go a long way in identifying design weaknesses before the product is available, but it requires a good understanding of the loads and operating conditions that the product is likely to see. Often those aren’t well understood. Die cast tooling must withstand some very demanding environments. Because of the heat condition and the hardness of the material used, making changes to the die cast tool tool are more expensive than other manufacturing processes.
