An important consideration in electrical machine and transformer design is the magnetic flux in the ferromagnetic cores. Simulation accuracy is dependent on realistic material models that reproduce the expected magnetic behavior. This paper describes the use of an advanced hysteresis material model for incorporating iron losses in magnetic field solutions and also discusses its effect on the overall performance of various electromagnetic devices.
