The new F4T temperature process controller from Watlow, St. Louis, Mo., does the work of several devices in one versatile package. All-in-one capabilities include integrated PID controllers, data loggers, limit controllers, solid-state relays, timers, counters, and power switches. Eliminating the need for separate discrete components can lower overall costs, reduce design complexity, save wiring time and panel space, and simplify installation.

The unit’s software includes robust algorithms for temperature, cascade, altitude, humidity, and compressor functions, as well as adaptive-control algorithms. It also offers math and logic for process and machine control and monitors up to 24 sensor inputs. A wide range of field-removable I/O modules (which can be added in increments of one) lets users configure the unit to handle a multitude of applications.

The F4T’s 4.3-in., color touchscreen with high-resolution GUI lets users customize the display’s channels, alarms, and inputs and outputs. And its Composer graphical-configuration PC software speeds up and simplifies commissioning, archives controller setups, and easily connects with other devices. Communications options include Ethernet Modbus TCP and SCPI and EIA 232/485 Modbus RTU, as well as USB ports.

Agency certifications include UL, FM, CE, RoHS, and WEEE, and the controller meets NEMA 4X/IP65. Temperature rating is 0 to 122°F.
