Take 54 bottles of Coke Zero, combine with 324 Mentos mints, and use the resulting explosive release of carbon dioxide and Coke to propel a vehicle over 200 feet. Such is the creation of Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz: a single-seat carbon-dioxide-powered rocket car. Their Mark II car recently set a land distance record, according to them, of 239 feet!

If this sounds somewhat familiar, Grobe and Voltz are the two people who enthralled the Internet with their displays of Coke and Mentos fountains and geysers set to music. Now they've taken their experimentation and applied it to propulsion, as seen in the video. Next stop, the moon? Naw, shoot for Mars, guys!
