Kate Hyam is the director of nuclear codes and standards at ASME, responsible for ASME’s portfolio of standards applicable to nuclear facilities and technology. Throughout her career at ASME, she has been involved with developing standards in the areas of Big Data, additive manufacturing, verification and validation of computational modelling and simulation, construction safety, standardization and thermal energy storage. Early in her career, she designed mechanical systems for natural gas and coal-fired power plants at Bechtel Power.
