As CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Jeff Mason is charged with implementing and executing MEDC’s core mission of business development and attraction, community development, providing access to capital, and improving Michigan’s image and brand. Before joining the MEDC in 2017, Mason spent eight years as the executive director of Michigan’s University Research Corridor (URC), an alliance between Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, and Wayne State University that works to transform, strengthen, and diversify Michigan’s economy. Prior to joining the URC, Mason served as senior vice president and chief business development officer for the MEDC. Mason also headed up the Technology Development Group, which worked to grow the technology-oriented segments of the state’s economy. Mason has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
