At Pack Expo, Aurizon Ultrasonics unveiled a new line of advanced ultrasonic sealers. The Compact Contact Bonder (CCB) UltraLight series is lighter and smaller than the company’s rotary ultrasonic systems, offering faster speeds and lower power consumption. It can be configured for top, bottom, and fin sealing and can be easily integrated into existing horizontal form fill and seal machinery, vertical form fill and seal machinery, and flow wrapper machinery. The series uses high-frequency mechanical vibrations to seal packaging materials, such as thermoplastic films. By rapidly and cyclically compressing the materials, the vibrations cause them to heat and melt from the inside. This forms a seal without the need for heat or expensive adhesives.

Specifically, the CCB40UL sealer can be easily integrated into horizontal form fill and seal (HFFS) machines and is capable of providing high-speed continuous sealing with quality and consistenty, even in applications where product contamination in the seal zone is a challenge. It can produce seal widths of up to 1-in. and can run at speeds of up to 500 ft/s.
