    Large-Lead Ball Screws

    Aug. 4, 2005
Two new sizes join the UltraSpeed line of precision ball screws: The 30 40 has a 30-mm diameter with 40-mm lead, and the 65 80 has a 65-mm diameter with 80-mm lead.

Ultra-Speed ball screws have a DN rating of 160,000 that permits very high-speed operation. Linear velocities of 4,000 ipm, at 2 gs and higher come from use of advanced thread-grinding technology and lead-to-diameter ratios from 0.5:1 to greater than 1:1. Applications for the high-lead ball screws include high-speed laser-cutting and drilling machines, as well as electronic assembly machines.
