Single-axis drive/controller
THE ACS stepper drive/controller for electric actuators comes in both servo and stepper control technologies. With built-in configurations for electric actuators, linear motion is easily created in the desired linear units (mm or inch).

This low-cost linear-motion system replaces pneumatic cylinders and automates manual processes. It is intended to be controlled from a PLC or master controller via 24-Vdc digital I/O, 0 to 10 Vdc or 4 to 20-mA analog I/O, Ethernet, or Modbus RTU over RS-485.

The drives provide infinite positioning through a variety of operating modes. In Ethernet mode, daisy chaining or star topology support Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP and the ACS drive can be driven by just about any PLC. Additional modes include pneumatic mode, which lets the system replace pneumatic logic without reprogramming the PLC by simply configuring position and velocity for two or three positions. The index-move mode lets users configure 16 moves as absolute, incremental, jog, force, or home moves for maximum flexibility. The analog-position mode is controlled by a 0 to 10-Vdc or 4 to 20-mA analog input, and has an option to mirror the position via 0 to 10-Vdc or 4 to 20-mA analog output.
