Refrigerated Coolers Transport Hearts

The controller from Mosaic has an embedded computer with 256k of Flash and 128k RAM, with two RS-232/485 ports and four high-current drivers

The days of plopping human hearts into an ice bucket for transport are coming to an end. Refrigerated coolers keep hearts healthy for 12 hours outside the body, three times longer than ice-filled coolers. The new refrigerated device uses SmarTouch controller from Mosaic Industries, Newark, Calif., as the user-interface C-programmable computer handles all refrigeration and scheduling and prevents unauthorized personnel from changing the settings or erasing the memory.
