A Talk on Industrializing Metal Additive Manufacturing

Sept. 13, 2016
Renishaw's Marc Saunders will discuss the steps toward industrializing additive manufacturing at IMTS 2016; the company's AM and metrology products will also be on display.

At the 2016 Additive Manufacturing Conference (AMC), which is co-located with the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), Marc Saunders, director of Renishaw’s global solution centers, will offer a treatise on the industrialization of additive manufacturing (AM). The presentation, taking place on Wed., Sept. 14 at McCormick Place (Chicago, Ill.), will explore the chains of linked processes and tools required to create an integrated manufacturing process with AM at the core. It will also delve into the controls needed to turn AM into a mainstream manufacturing process.

In addition to the presentation, Renishaw will exhibit its additive-manufacturing systems and metrology products at Booth E-5509. Renishaw designs and manufactures advanced metal AM systems, and works closely with industry to help lower the entry barriers to AM via its international network of Solutions Centers.

At the Centers, companies considering adopting AM as a production process can gain hands-on experience with the technology and understand how it may best fit into their own manufacturing chains. Renishaw has Solutions Centers in Canada, the U.K., India, and Shanghai, with Chicago and other locations opening later this year.
