MD&M hits the Big Apple amid boom times for device makers

The Medical Design & Manufacturing show returns to New York City on June 13 to 15 in the Javits Convention Center. Over 1,500 companies and 30,000 buyers are expected to participate. The show will feature companies in contract manufacturing, component fabrication, adhesives, electronics, assembly, motion control, testing equipment, IV components, and a host of other categories. Conference sessions will cover topics such as FDA regulations and inspections, winning business in the medical-device industry, risk management, software validation, QSR, package and process validation, and failure analysis and prevention.

Several other shows will occupy Javits Center simultaneously. EastPak will showcase the latest in packaging machinery, closures, containers, materials, and services. Atlanta Design & Manufacturing highlights companies involved with CAD, CAM, and PDM, linear actuators, optical sensing, sensors, and transducers. Plastec East covers all aspects of plastic processing, including materials, molds, processing machinery, and contract services. And ATX highlights technological advances in automation and assembly, including robots, control software, motors, drives, and motion control.

The expositions will also be the site for 15 product pavilions. They include: Automation Technology, CAD/CAM/PDM, Contract Manufacturing, Cosmetic and Personal Care, Electronics, Enterprise Technology, Ingredients, Material Handling & Logistics, Medical Electronics, Medpak, Packaging, Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Packaging, PrecisionTec, U.S. Mold Builders, and new this year, the Quality Pavilion. It will house a full array of test and inspection gear such as optical and laser equipment, data acquisition/collection devices, validation software, and surface-measurement devices.
