Smart cameras fuel machine-vision growth

The prime catalyst behind the projected growth is the increasing use of smart cameras and smart sensors.

IMS consulted manufacturers and users for its study and concluded there is a great need for "smart" solutions to machine vision. Features should be integrated into cameras, and setup and use should be easy. As a result, revenues from the frame grabber market are expected to decline substantially. And machine-vision systems will rely more on Ethernet devices for communication.
