Micro Switch celebrates 75 years

Oct. 25, 2007
75 years ago, in October 1932, Honeywell invented one of the first components to supercharge the race to miniaturization and high performance in electronics.

The Micro Switch is an electric switch actuated by the physical motion of mechanical devices. No other switch mechanism had its strength, high-current capacity, and small size and weight. The Micro Switch's core technology has changed ever so slightly over the years; only improvements to the housing have occurred, such as hermetically sealed or enclosed basic switches.
