The phones contain Agere's sceptre HPE 2.5-generation GSM/E-GPRS chip set transmits data at up to 384 kilobits per second, keeping it in line with the 2.5-generation Edge standard. Agere stacks one memory chip on top of the base-band chip to reduce the phone's size. Typically, cell phones have chips on both sides of the circuit board, making phones thicker.
