Air bags are typically deployed with tiny inertial or pressure sensors. That's good news for companies such as MEMS software maker Coventor Inc., Cary, N.C.
Its CoventorWare Automotive Design Tool Sets help engineers design and build accelerometers, gyroscopes, and pressure sensors for automotive applications. The software tools are compatible with Saber and other auto-industry-standard software. The tools work for all MEMS manufacturing processes including bulk and surface micromachining for piezoresistive or capacitive devices, as well as wafer bonding and dissolved-wafer processes for capacitive types.
CoventorWare provides a design-formanufacturability design flow compatible with Six-Sigma and other quality-assurance programs, says Coventor Application Engineering Manager, Mark daSilva.
