Aug. 9-11 — The largest stand-alone military vehicle exhibition in North America has expanded to include:
• A focus on retrofitting current vehicle fleets, with highlights on the most pressing component and technology needs for military vehicles.
• The main conference breaks into dedicated tracks — vehicle armor, alternative energy, and vehicle-systems development.
• Top-level brief on planning and acquisition for border protection and armored vehicle needs.

Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing
Aug. 23-25 — Wayne Tustin, founder of the Equipment Reliability Institute, will discuss severe vibrations aboard rockets, spacecraft, and satellites en route to orbit, as well as those of automobiles and other land vehicles, at the “Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing, HALT, ESS, HASS Measurements, Analysis and Calibration” course. The course will also deal with accelerometers used in measurements over the road, over the waves, in flight, and during rocket launch and powered flight. The meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harbormasters Classroom in Santa Barbara, Calif.
