Optocode (OCD) rotary encoders target motion-control systems that operate in harsh environments.

Optocode (OCD) rotary encoders target motion-control systems that operate in harsh environments. Seals on the shaft and electrical connections are IP67 rated for dust and moisture protection. The devices are available with SAE J1939 and CANopen interfaces for vehicle or mobile applications.

The optical measurement system in OCD encoders is built around an unbreakable plastic code disk and provides 16,384 steps/turn resolution. The optical system isn’t affected by electromagnetic fields from nearby welders, motors, transformers, etc. Multiturn models have a range of 4,096 revolutions.
