The nine-year partnership between Minarik Drives, South Beloit, Ill., and Assembléon, Alpharetta, Ga., moves forward with the first U.S. installation of the new MC-1 SMT (surface mount technology) pick and place equipment. The SMT equipment combines a high mix capability with accurate chip and IC shooting, making it one of the most versatile pick and place machines on the market.

This increased versatility allows Minarik to increase its capacity and expand further into contract engineering and manufacturing of board level power and control components. The MC-1 fits in the same footprint as the previous Assembléon machines, allowing fast installation with no additional expenditures for electrical or air supply requirements. Additional feeder locations also allow for quicker setup time between model runs, which lets Minarik run smaller lot sizes more cost effectively than ever.

The new MC1 machines are linked to a server network for more accurate data management as well as the ability to release new product designs to the manufacturing floor in real time and with greater accuracy. For more information, visit Minarik Drives.
