Non-toxic anticorrosion coating - Birchwood Casey

July 29, 2011
The coating replaces cold blackening of irons and steels.

Microlok AO protects iron and steel parts from corrosion and galling up to 1,400°F without using EPA-regulated chemicals. The non-toxic, silver-black, aluminum-oxide conversion coating is 1.5 micrometers thick and tightly adheres to metal surfaces, replacing cold blackening. The coating applies in five steps and 18 min. without boiling, splattering, or sludge buildup.
