This golf cart may have a little more torque than the average golfer needs, but it shows the power of an electric motor with regenerative braking.

D&D Motor Systems Inc., Syracuse, N.Y., a maker of electric motors and controllers, says its regenerative braking also increases vehicle range from 2 to 10%, depending on setup and application.
