The 26th annual Medical Design & Manufacturing East show will run from June 3 to 5 in the Javits Convention Center in New York City, with conferences beginning June 2.

This year, the Optics and Biomedevice pavilions have been added to LaserTec, Precision- Tec, MedPak, Quality, and Medical electronics. A few of the conference tracks cover Marketing a medical device in the United States, Risk management for medical devices, Medical-device packaging: Regulation and innovation, and Designing a better medical device. MD&M East claims it’s the East Coast’s leading educational and networking forum for the medical-manufacturing industry.

Ultrasonic welding from Herrmann Ultrasonics Inc. (hermannultrasonics.com), Bartlett, Ill., will also be on display. Medialog welding machines, mostly used by medical-device companies and other plastic-assembly manufacturers, feature clean room-friendly surfaces. Incoming air is filtered, and exhaust air can be directed through existing ventilation.
