The CoDeSys embedded controller, for use with the CPX Series of multifunctional control terminals, is an IEC 61131-3 compatible programming environment. Current users of IEC 61131-3 can port over existing code, libraries, function blocks, etc., reducing programming time. Six programming languages provided by CoDeSys let users select one that is most comfortable for the programmer in a particular application.

The CPX-CEC module handles single and multiaxis applications and operates autonomously or in conjunction with a host controller, such as a master PLC. It can also be used as an intelligent slave in fieldbus-based systems to provide localized signal preprocessing.
