The 2D, camera-based PosiTrack PCV positioning system uses data-matrix technology to solve numerous linear-feedback problems common to automated storage and retrieval systems

The 2D, camera-based PosiTrack PCV positioning system uses data-matrix technology to solve numerous linear-feedback problems common to automated storage and retrieval systems, overhead monorails, lifts, and rotary turntables. It can read at up to 41 fps, and the high-data density of the 2D code allows continuous reading over distances up to 6 miles.

Data-matrix codes are used for read-and-react, single-step processes. 2D camera technology expands these applications from incremental processes to continuous tracking and positioning. Thin strips of adhesive-backed data-matrix codes placed along a carrier’s travel path continuously update its movement with ±0.1-mm resolution. The PosiTrack’s touch-free optics offer years of wear-free, low-maintenance operation. The system has a scanner-to-code band separation to 80 mm.
