Shaft couplings

Dec. 1, 2009
Smooth-running drives VLT low-harmonic drives regulate without affecting connected motor, plus impose currents for consistent sine waves from power supply.

Electrodeposited, nickel-alloy bellows-type flexible shaft couplings provide 2 oz-in. to 20 lb-ft torque capabilities for shaft sizes ranging from 0.090 to 1 in.

Features & benefits

  • Low-torque couplings handle angular misalignment to 31° or parallel misalignments to 0.076 in.

  • Zero backlash, vibration-damping capability, zero cyclic-speed variation during 360° rotation, very low elastic windup from torsional rigidity

  • Low side thrust on bearings — lateral flexibility
