Caliper brakes

Dec. 1, 2010
Spring-engaged, hydraulically disengaged brakes are for dynamic braking and static holding.

Spring-engaged, hydraulically disengaged brakes are for dynamic braking and static holding.

Features & benefits

  • Withstands temperatures to -30° F, unlike pneumatically actuated counterparts that withstand only 0° F

  • Fixed-point pivots for equal braking force to both rotor sides; various friction materials

  • Quick-release pins allow easy brake shoe removal from actuator arms for friction-pad replacement

  • Nested spring design minimizes spring-force losses

  • Ports with large Cv values ensure fast actuation, even when the hydraulic fluid is at lower temperature.

  • Disengagement pressures: 75 to 1,500 psi
