Heavy-duty Shock Absorbers

The HD/HDN Series of heavy duty shock absorbers are available in a wide variety of stroke lengths and damping characteristics to increase equipment life and meet stringent deceleration requirements. These compact shock absorbers smoothly and safely decelerate loads of up to 8 million in-lbs. per cycle. They feature an internal, air charged bladder accumulator, so there are no return springs and overall length is shorter and the shocks are lighter. Zinc-plated external components resist corrosion and epoxy paint and special rod materials are available for use in highly corrosive environments. They also meet OSHA, AISE, CMMA and other safety specifications such as DIN and FEM.

The shock absorbers have a wide variety of options, including bellows, clevis mounts, and safety cables. Standard adjustable or custom-orificed non-adjustable models are also available as well as optional fluids and seal packages to expand the standard operating temperature range from 15º to 140º F to -40º to 210º F. They are fully field-repairable. Piston rod extension sensors are optional for reuse safety requirements.
