Two new speed controllers — PI Controller Series SC 5004 and 5008 for brushed and brushless-dc motors — are software configurable so there is no need for trimmers or DIP switches. They can be operated with one and the same controller, either as brushed direct-current motors or electronically commuted drives, also with integrated Hall sensors. Speed can be controlled to between 50 and 60,000 rpm, depending on operating mode.
