The DataMan 300 fixed-mount industrial ID reader handles difficult code-reading applications, even on high-speed lines. The readers increase bar-code read rates and speed with a new 1DMax+ algorithm, which incorporates “Hotbars” technology. This technology uses texture to locate bar codes at any orientation and then extracts highresolution 1D signals for decoding. For 2D matrix and difficult-to-read Direct Part Mark (DPM) codes, performance has also been improved from an upgrade of 2DMax to the 2DMax+ algorithm.

Two models are available. DataMan 300 features 800 × 600-pixel resolution, and the DataMan 302, 1,280 × 1,024 pixels. DataMan 302 is suited for reading small DPM codes on small components to ensure full part traceability.

The Series offers the flexibility of controllable modular lighting and optics. Users purchase one model and choose the appropriate lens based on required working distance and field of view. The controllable, field-changeable lighting modules let users create the best possible lighting for their part, ensuring optimal read rates.
