A number of companies have already signed up to take part in SPS Electric Automation America, scheduled for May 2005 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

The exhibition portion, running May 24 to 26, will cover electric automation, machine, and motion control — from basic components to integrated systems. Exhibiting companies already onboard include AMK Drives & Controls, B&R Industrial Automation Corp., Baldor Electric, Baumüller, Beckhoff Automation LLC, Bosch Rexroth Corp., Elmo Motion Control Inc., G&L Motion Control, Harting Inc., Heidenhain Corp., Horner APG, Phoenix Contact, Pilz Automation Safety LP, Siemens, and Wago Corp.

The conference, May 23 to 26, will focus on the development and successful application of electric automation components and systems on the factory floor. Technical paper sessions, panel discussions, and professional seminars will explore the design, manufacture, standardization, use, industry direction, and trends in electric automation components and systems.

New sales manager

Minarik Automation & Controls has announced Ken Tevebaugh as sales manager of the Charlotte facility. He will be responsible for business planning and strategies, managing the entire outside sales force, and handling supplier relations, while expanding the current sales territory. Tevebaugh has more than 25 years of engineering, managerial, and sales experience at the manufacturing and distribution level throughout the motion control industry.
