Component Library for driveline modeling

Oct. 12, 2011
For driveline desing, a new MapleSim add-in lets engineers use both empirical data and the best of physical models to maximize model fidelity, optimize designs, and improve overall vehicle fuel efficiency.
The MapleSim Driveline Component Library is a collection of components for driveline modeling. Built with the help of several transmission manufacturers, the MapleSim add-in covers all stages in the powertrain, from the engine to the differential, wheels, and road loads, as well as vehicle dynamics. According to the developer, the use of MapleSim along with the new add-in lets engineers use both empirical data and the best of physical models to maximize model fidelity, optimize designs, and improve overall vehicle fuel efficiency. MapleSim is physical modeling and simulation software that efficiently handles all of the complex mathematics involved in the development of engineering models, including multi-domain systems, plant modeling, and control design.
