The TCU compensation unit consists of two base plates, connected via elastomer pads, compensate in the X, Y, and. to some extent, Z directions. Angular or rotational errors can be corrected, if required. Depending on the size of the unit, the compensation path in X/Y direction can be 2 to 4 mm, the compensation angle can be between 1.5 and 3.5°. The unit can be optionally equipped with a pneumatic locking device, which locks the module rigid, to prevent the attached tooling or gripper from being moved during actuation of the handling system.
