Global standards on environmental noise are forcing factory owners and equipment operators to explore inexpensive and effective ways to quiet drive chains. One potential solution is U.S. Tsubaki's low-noise chains drive. They have the strength and reliability of the company's ANSI standard chains, but reduce noise levels nearly 50% by using a spring roller that absorbs the impact of sprocket-chain interactions. Available in sizes 40 through 80, the U.S. Tsubaki, Wheeling, Ill., the chain meets environmental-management standards such as ISO 14000. The chains exceed ANSI minimum tensile strength requirements, operates with standard sprockets, and works at temperatures ranging from 14 to 140°F.
