Compact IGBTs spark automotive ignitions

Feb. 20, 2002
EcoSpark IGBTs for ignition coil drivers are packaged in industrystandard D-Pak or D2-Pak.

EcoSpark IGBTs for ignition coil drivers are packaged in industrystandard D-Pak or D2-Pak. The ignition coil drivers have an active voltage clamp between the collector and the gate, providing self-clamped inductive switching and limiting the stress applied to ignition coils. Saturation voltage is rated at 175?C and 10 A with some products as low as 1.9 V maximum. The EcoSpark family consists of 360 and 400-V products with true single-pulse collector-to-emitter avalanche ratings from 200 to 500 mj.
