Size-5 Brushless DC Motor For Medical Tools

The MediTorq Size 5 is a brushless dc motor for handheld surgical tools and dental equipment. The motor can spin at 100,000 rpm and accommodate precision speed control and increased torque at lower speeds. The stainless-steel motor can be custom designed for medical devices: hollow-shaft designs can facilitate fluid flow for irrigation, threaded housings and shafts can hold handpieces and miniature saws, and planetary gearheads can be incorporated for applications such as driving surgical fasteners during orthopedic procedures. Windings are rated for 200°C.
