With strokes of up to 25 mm, pneumatic short-stroke cylinders from Festo, Hauppauge, N.Y., are suitable for clamping, fixing, ejecting, joining, and gluing applications.

The AEVC/ADVC Series cylinders feature extruded aluminum profiles with sensor slots and have no bearing or base caps. The housing holds the compressed air couplings. The new cylinders are said to improve end position cushioning and have a low-friction piston arrangement. They are available in two different sensor slot sizes for the company's Series 8 and 10 cylinder sensors. The cylinders are also interchangeable with previous models.
