New Product: Easy Flowing, Glass-Reinforced Resins

March 6, 2008
Three highly-filled polyamide 66 grades, Ultramid A3WG8, A3WG10, and A3WGM53 High Speed, reportedly flow more easily and feature better heat-aging resistance compared to competing polyamides (PAs).

A3WG8 and A3WG10 grades are filled with 40 and 50% glass fibers, respectively, while A3WGM53 is glass-fiber and mineral reinforced. The PAs are compounded with nanoparticles that improve flow properties making them candidates for large-engine-compartment components with thinner walls. The first highly filled grades in the PA 6 family with a similar property profile are also being developed.
