Sysdrive JV series ac inverters from Omron Electronics Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., are suitable for small motor control ranging from 1 /8 to 5 hp. The inverters feature quick-start LEDs and come with face-mounted speed potentiometers for immediate starts. The 5-in.-high inverters are said to easily mount on optional DIN-rail brackets. Applications include pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers, blowers, and compressors. The JV has a soft-start circuit, optional RS-422 and RS-485 serial communication ports, and provides a starting torque of 150% at 3 Hz. Analog inputs include 0 to 10 V and 4 to 20 mA, along with an analog monitor output and digital output.
