"Nozzle-free" spray head

Dec. 8, 2005
The CAT 35 ILDS (integrated liquid-delivery system) is a dual-mode spray head that gives engineers an alternative to conventional airatomizing, film-coating, and other dispensing technologies.

The device consists of an ultrasonic transducer with a titanium spraying head and with liquid and air applicators. The ultrasonic spray head has two modes: narrow (5-mm pattern width) and wide (3 to 25-mm pattern width). It applies a uniform 0.0005 to 0.005-in.-thick coating free from defects. The "nozzle-free" spray head works with urethanes, acrylics, water-based, solvent-based, and 100%-solid UV-curable coatings. It is compatible with all Prism Systems.
