CAD, Collaboration, And PLM Aimed At Midsized Companies

Sept. 1, 2005
Variations of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Express are aimed at medium-sized businesses, those with limited IT staffs and budgets.

"PLM Express for Industrial Products and Consumer Goods" and "PLM Express for Electronics" have been improved to deliver even more capability. Companies of any size can start small and add functions as their needs and skills evolve. The IBM Express Portfolio now counts 100 offerings all designed, developed, and priced for the midmarket. At the core of the PLM express is an integrated suite of software called Collaborative Generative Design. It's based on Catia V5 and its knowledgeware applications. Smarteam software provides collaboration and secures access to product data as well as STEP for data exchange of CAD drawings in other formats.
