Connector For Adding Harnesses To PCBs

April 14, 2005
The modular ECU connects PCB to wiring harnesses and features only a plug assembly.

Power and signal contacts are encased in a custom housing, and a latch in the housing secures the harness to the PCB. The connector mates to an enginemanagement system that can be mounted on an engine, meeting all environmental requirements of USCAR and SAE J 2030. The system eliminates the female half of the connector and the footprint is approximately 20% smaller than traditional wire to board solutions. There's no need to solder a connector half to the PCB. ECU contacts can be configured for up to 7A. The units are sealed to IP69K, withstand vibrations, and operate between 55 and 125°C.
